Transportation
PSI provides a comprehensive bus service to transport its students to and from school each day.
The school's transport service is carried out with a high level of safety, reliability and quality.
The service is operated by PSI who contacts high quality buses from local companies and is coordinated by our school Bus Programme Coordinator, Lilia Gotvyanska.
Bus Routes
Each vehicle follows a daily route between PSI and a designated part of the city that it serves.
Students have one designated bus route and bus stop when they are collected each morning.
Parents receive a map showing the bus route for their children in advance marked with the designated bus stop. Each bus makes limited stops on its route so as to minimize the travelling time. Bus routes are planned out to ensure that students are not required to cross a main road or walk more than 300 meters to their stop. Travel time to and from school should not take longer than 40 minutes.

Mornings
Students are collected at times provided to each family by the Bus Programme Coordinator. Students should arrive in school by 8:15am.
Afternoons
Bus departure times from school to return students home are:
12 noon – EC3
2:00pm – EC4
3:00pm – Primary and Secondary
4:00pm – Primary and Secondary (after regular classes and After School Activities)
5:00pm – Secondary and some Primary After School Activities
There are also late buses provided for students participating in occasional events e.g. sporting events that may extend beyond 6pm.
Safety
The safety of our students using the bus service is a priority and we ensure this through the following measures:
- The vehicles receive regular safety and maintenance checks.
- All vehicles are fitted with seat belts for each child. For EC3 and EC4 students US-sourced Safeguard seat restraints are fitted.
- Drivers are qualified and experienced and receive appropriate training.
- A bus monitor, who is an English-speaking school employee, accompanies each minibus. The capacity of the largest buses is 16 students.
- Both the driver and bus monitor in each vehicle are provided with cell phones to stay in contact with the school and with parents. A parent contact list is available to each bus monitor.
Cost
The annual cost of using the PSI bus service to and from school, including being transported home after school activities is $2,100 per annum per student for families living within the city boundary. The above mentioned price is inclusive of VAT. There are no reductions for students using the service in the morning or afternoon only.
A single payment for the full cost is made at the start of the school year. The payment deadline is 31st August 2011.
We regret that we are unable to provide a bus service for students who live outside the city boundary.
Families wishing to make use of the bus service for a temporary period of time may do so if places are available. The minimum period for using the school bus service is two weeks. The cost for each two-week period is $125.
Students who leave the school before the end of the school year or discontinue the service for other reasons may receive a refund for the unused months.
