Mother Tongue After School Support

PSI now offers Mother Tongue after school support for the following languages: Dutch, French, German, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, Swedish, and Ukrainian.
Maintaining reading and writing skills in the Mother Tongue has been shown to lead to improved language competence in the second language, English, and to support cognitive development. It also serves to maintain ties to the home country and allow for easier re-integration into the home country's school system when necessary. PSI encourages all students to continue to develop and maintain their Mother Tongue languages. If you would like your child to take part in Mother Tongue classes for a language not yet offered at PSI, please email Maria Kachmar (mariak@psi.kiev.ua), the Mother Tongue languages coordinator.
