Library

As an IB world school, the PSI Library strives to be a key resource for students and teachers and participate in the delivery of all three IB programmes, PYP, MYP and DP.

With two teacher librarians collaborating with staff and students to plan and implement units of inquiry, the PSI Library fosters literacy development, critical thinking skills, informational literacy and research skills. Teacher librarians participate in co-teaching, team  and shared teaching to ensure that students are learning information literacy skills, including academic honesty, within the context of their units.

The PSI library contains a diverse collection of around 24,000 items representing more than 20,000 individual titles.  Along with books there are periodicals, audio and visual materials and ebooks in multiple languages. The PSI Library operational system is Follett Destiny ™ OPAC which allows for the catalogue of all resources to be accessed remotely and made available to the whole community.

The library's physical space is divided between two different buildings. The Primary Library collection is located on the second floor of the Primary School (Building B) and the Secondary Library collection is located on the third floor of the Secondary School (Building C).

The Foreign Language and Professional Development collections are housed in B200 next to the Primary School Library. This room serves multiple purposes, including the levelled reading resource room and is the heart of the Makerspace initiative which is used by students during recess, throughout the day during classes and after school for ECAs.
