Student council

Our Mission Statement: To represent the voice of all middle and high school students in our school and improve the life of the student body.

The PSI Student Council is a form of student government that improves the connection between the students, the teachers and the parents. We represent the student body and take into account their demands, wishes and suggestions and we try to act on them (for example forward them to the Principal, teachers, or other staff). We also try to get teacher’s messages across, especially when they concern a part of the school life, which is relevant to all.

Since the beginning of the year, we as a group have come with many events and projects to make the Student Council a more active part of the school life. So far it has been quite successful and the spirit is building. We are fortunately building on past years and making improvements, which is appreciated by the whole student body.

The Basketball Tournament of December and the Spirit Week of February were highly attended events and contributed to create a strong sense of belonging throughout the student body. Furthermore, smaller-scale events such as Valentine’s Day flower sales were dearly enjoyed and there will be more to come.

As a government, the Student Council  helps students who participate in developing leadership skills, the ability to co-operate, work in a team and make compromises. However, the most important part is to learn how to get things done. It also provides students with some CAS hours to recognize the importance of service on behalf of the student body.

Over the course of the first semester, executives and representatives have managed to build a strong sense of ability in the Student Council, and we are all being more productive than ever. Everyone appreciates the chance to talk and new ideas are evoked every day, leading us to a better school.

We meet every Friday at 12.20 (middle and secondary school lunchtime) in room 107 in the secondary building. Although the attendance has been amazingly strong this year, anyone is more than welcome to join and offer a contribution.
