In addition to its academic curriculum, PSI offers a comprehensive Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) programme for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. This programme aims to provide opportunities to cultivate and enrich existing skills as well as explore new areas of interest through sports, the arts, recreation, mother tongues and service. It is about fun, excitement, enjoyment and trying new things.
Activities include arts and crafts, performing arts, musical pursuits, both indoor and outdoor physical activities, mother tongue enrichment, movement and dance as well as interest clubs. PSI also participates in international Math and Knowledge Bowl competitions through the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA). The Primary School ECA football and basketball programmes also participate in local tournaments with invited schools.
There are annual musical and drama productions and performances in both Secondary and Primary during the course of the year. In addition, PSI is a member of the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) and travels each year to drama festivals organised worldwide by this arts education organisation. These activities are valued experiences in the holistic development of our students and all are encouraged to participate.
The Secondary School runs an extensive athletics programme that includes participation in a local league and in the CEESA regional league. For more information, please see our CEESA and Athletics website pages.
In 2019/2020 the activities programme is divided into 3 seasons, each one being 10 weeks long. Some activities run throughout the year, while other activities are added and omitted seasonally to ensure a variety of activities offered to students.
On this website, you will find a calendar with a detailed list of the current season extracurricular activities.
Online registration takes place during the first week at the beginning of the school year and non-ECA time in between the seasons.
The dates when registration opens and closes are announced at PSI Website, in the school online newsletter the "Weekly" and on Facebook.
If you want to register your child for more that one activity, you must fill in a form for each activity.
Remember to sign up your child only once for each activity.
Students can participate in only one activity in the same time slot/ on the same day. Alternation of activities during season/or attending half of an activity on the same day is not practiced.
Be aware that after the closing date for registration, no more changes can be made for the season; unless there is a cancellation of a class due to very low numbers. This decision has been made to prevent any disruption to the ECA process.
Exception - New PSI students who join after the ECA season is underway. The activities will be offered to these students according to availability of places and possibilities of adding to course. You can do so throughout the season for all activities.
Changes to Activities
Any changes to your child/ren’s activity schedule need to be confirmed with the homeroom teacher, bus program coordinator (email@example.com) and the ECA coordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org) and should be done at least one day before the activity is scheduled (exceptions for emergencies only).
In case of emergency, please leave a message with the receptionist for the aforementioned staff members. This allows bus and ECA coordination to operate smoothly.
In case student misses three sessions of the same activity without notifying the ECA coordinator, he/she will be cancelled from that activity.
