PSI Panthers Athletics

Parents and students can have a look at the website for more details and also sign up for 2018 / 2019 sports teams via the website. All details will be available on the PSI Panthers Athletics Website.

Basketball

KSSL Basketball has finished now for the Middle School teams who finished with some strong games, showing big improvement from the start of the season. They will continue with their preparation for the upcoming CEESA Tournaments.

The High School Boys have made it to the KSSL semi finals at the end of this week and we hope they have success and make it to the grand final games. High School Girls also played in the KSSL semi final but were unable to take the win. They now have a chance to play for 3rd place trophy next week.

CEESA Basketball Team members are reminded to make flight payments, check their passports, and organise a visa if needed. Ukrainian students should also prepare notarised letters.

Swimming

KSSL Swimming Tournament Two will be held next week on Thursday, 14 February at the PSI Swimming Pool - spectators are welcome between 1.00 pm and 5.00 pm. We won 32 medals last tournament, so the team has set a high standard for themselves. We wish them luck.

The CEESA Middle School and High School Boys and Girls Swimming tournament website has updates about this tournament, which will be 28 February - 3 March. The CEESA poster shows basic details of this tournament. Please share with friends and family.

PSI families hosting visiting swimmers from other countries from 28 February to 3 March should have received details this week as to who they are hosting. Please contact Ric Floyd if you have any questions or if you need transport assistance.

PSI Physical and Health Education

Please visit the PSI PHE Website for all updates and other details each week.

Semester 2 Swimming Medical Checks: Please be aware that most students' medical clearance to swim will expire between the end of February and the middle of March 2019. To ensure that all students have updated clearance, our school medical staff will again conduct swimming checks for all our students at PSI. As always, we will follow Child Safety and Protection guidelines that ensure that a professional medical officer and a second adult are present at examinations.

Only the basic swimming medical check will be done. Students participating in Season 3 ECA and SSS swimming sessions will be tested first. This will be followed by checks for all students during PHE lessons, as follows:

11 - 28 February: Season 3 ECA swimmers, both Primary and Secondary

11 - 28 February: Primary students

4 - 8 March: Possible additional dates for Primary

11 - 22 March: Secondary students

Students must have medical clearance to use the pool for ECAs, SSS and PHE lessons.

Remember that each check lasts for only 6 months. If you are unsure about whether your child needs to be checked, please contact his / her class teacher, who has a list of when each student's swimming medical check will expire.
