Thank you to everyone who attended the primary Family Literacy Afternoon this week. Students were very engaged in their activities and everyone appeared to have a lot of fun!
Next week, we are very excited to welcome our visiting storyteller Andy Wright. He will be with us for three days from Monday to Wednesday. Andy will be performing for Primary and Secondary School students at the assemblies on Monday. Primary assembly will take place at 8:45 and secondary at 10:05. Andy will also carry out workshops for students KG - Grade 8.
Andy is an outstanding performer, with experience of over 20 years telling stories to audiences in schools, theatres, and festivals throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Andy's early life was deeply affected by having a blind mother, blind grandmother and blind great grandmother, all of whom told stories in the ancient Celtic tradition. One aspect of Andrew's storytelling is the ability to paint pictures with words. Andy was influenced and learned to storytell from his visually impaired family members, which led to a great reliance on his choice and use of words, and the use of a wide range of voice.
