The Role of a Classroom Parent

The Classroom Parent serves as a valuable link between the teacher, other class parents and the PTA. The aim is to have one or two Classroom Parent's per class per grade level. The PTA encourage parents to sign up for this role at the beginning of each school year.

Classroom Parents main responsibilities:

  • Communicate with class room teachers, class parents and PTA
  • Help organise class events and learning celebrations
  • facilitate class room teacher in finding field trip locations and inviting guest speakers to support a Unit of Inquiry

  • Classroom Parents are not responsible for:

    • Mediating parent / teacher conflicts
    • Discipline or security matters
    • Academic issues
    • Recognising teacher’s birthdays as well as end­ of­ year / holidays with gifts
    • Money collection
