Primary/Secondary School.

Felina M. Heart, M.Ed

Primary Counselor

Grades EC-6

Felina Heart has a Bachelor’s Degree in communication with a minor in Psychology from Sam Houston State University. She also received a Masters of Education in School Counselling from the CACREP certified counselling program at Sam Houston State University.

As a Primary School counsellor, she helps to support students socially, emotionally and academically. Felina meets with students individually or in groups and also provides supports within the classrooms through conducting guidance lessons. She also helps to develop and implement behavioural intervention supports with parents and staff. Finally, she helps support students with transition concerns and especially works with the 5th grade transition to Secondary School.

Michele Basu, MA

Secondary School Counselor

Grades 6-12

Michele Basu earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Studio Art from the University of South Florida. She also received a Master’s Degree in Counsellor Education from the CACREP certified Counsellor Education program at the University of South Florida.

As the Secondary School Counsellor, Michele Basu provides support, advice, and counselling regarding personal, social and academic concerns. She works with students, teachers and parents to address all Secondary School students’ concerns.

Ms. Basu provides support within classrooms, particularly through the Personal Excellence homeroom program. Ms. Basu assists with developing and implementing behaviour plans. She helps students adjust to PSI and to PSI’s IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP) academic programmes.

Finally, Michele Basu works extensively with students and parents regarding all of the university application process (entrance tests, school selections, essays, college applications, and decision making).
