Dear Students, Parents and Community Members:

How do we connect families to the International Baccalaureate and our teaching and learning programmes? We do this by providing three informational meetings to all school parents.

  • 1.0 - New Family Orientation Day - A General Introduction.
  • 2.0 - Back To School Curriculum Meeting - Specific Homeroom / Grade Level Information.
We now invite families to register for the third and most detailed sessions, the International Baccalaureate Workshops
  • 3.0 - PYP & MYP Saturday Workshops - Go Deeper With The Programmes & Our IB Coordinators.

Primary School Parents - IB/PYP Workshop

PTA - Classroom Parents Wanted

We are looking for parents at all grade levels to act as Classroom Parents. It is a great way to meet other parents, help your child's teacher and give your child an extra special year. The commitment is to facilitate the communication among parents, teachers and students through organising class events, participating in school educational events for parents, organising parents socials, like coffee mornings, etc. It doesn’t require much work but is highly appreciated! Emergency Procedures Drills

This week, all staff and students participated in a campus Lockdown Drill. This procedure would be used when an intruder is on the school campus or possibly for a ‘bomb threat’ made to an outdoor area.

Gate / Security Cards
 

This month, we are collecting any old PSI Security Cards that do not have the person's ID photo on the card. PSI security will be taking these old cards and issuing a new one (with a photo).

To issue security cards for your family (and representatives), please fill out this Parental Security Form. For additional information and to send your photographs, please contact the PSI Security Office: security@psi.kiev.ua.
 

Immunisation Records


As this new school year starts, we kindly remind you to please provide the school with Immunisation records (or refusal of vaccinations) and update old ones if new vaccinations have been done recently. You may pass a hard copy to Medical Office (Primary building, Room 108) or send a photo by e-mail to doctor@psi.kiev.ua. Your help is much appreciated!

Extracurricular Activities (ECA) & Saturday Sports Programme (SSS) News

 
Both our ECA and SSS programmes are up and running. Next week, there are no interruptions to programmes. Families can still register for these classes. Please see the ECA Website for more information about the programmes on offer.

Parent Education Tuesday Meeting (PET) This Week

Next Tuesday, we begin our Parent Education Tuesday Meetings. This weekly meeting offers information, conversation (and coffee) about important school programmes. The first session will be held on Tuesday, 13th September at 8:30 am in the PSI Cafeteria.  Here is a list of the upcoming PET meeting topics:
  • 13th September: School Accreditation and the Self Study - an overview of the work we will be doing this year on this very important process.
  • 20th September: The Importance of School Attendance in the Learning Process. Both principals are seeking feedback and will talk about school attendance, the importance of it and the ‘gaps’ that can be caused by missing school days.
 

Russian and English Lessons For Parents 

Parents are invited to join our free Russian and English lessons. Please come along to the lesson that you feel fits you best.

Thank you all who attended the first PTA Meeting of this School Year. We were especially happy to meet so many new parents, and to share our plans with all of you. Attending these monthly meetings is a great way to keep yourself informed about the latest news from the school community (school and PTA). 16th September: Newcomers Wine & Cheese. An adults-only event bringing parents and teachers new to PSI together for a casual evening.

29th September: PTA Steering Committee Meeting at 9 am in Home Café. Join us for a warm drink and get an idea of what the PTA does and how events come together.

11th October: PTA Meeting at 8:30 am in the PSI Cafeteria.

29th October: International Night. An all-family celebration of our many nations. Families team up by nation (or groups of nations) to showcase their unique customs through a potluck type fair. More info to come!
