DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
Dear Students, Parents and Community Members:

Public Holiday Monday
A reminder that Monday, 9th May is a public holiday in Ukraine (Victory Day) and PSI is closed. Please enjoy a holiday in the Kyiv sun.

PTA Glittering Night
Saturday, 14th May is the PTA Glittering Night community event. Tickets are still on sale at PSI Reception and include; finger food, a welcome drink, dancing, entertainment and fun surprises! A highlight of the event will be the ‘teacher promises’ silent auction. Here is a video of the ‘promises’ that you or your children way like to bid for. Video LINK

Annual General Meeting
The PSI Anniversary Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, 19th May 2016, 6.30 pm, at the Radisson Blu Hotel. All PSI community members are invited to attend this informative meeting. Grade 12 Graduation Ceremony
We invite the whole PSI community to attend the Grade 12 Graduation Ceremony. This is always a wonderful ceremony of student achievement and can be enjoyed by families of all grade levels. To be held on Friday, 20th May, 6:00 pm, at PSI.

PTA Summer Picnic / Anniversary Fun Run
This year, the PTA and School will not run a full picnic programme because the central playground (and picnic area) will be closed for the building project. Our Anniversary Fun Run followed by a community barbecue will take place on Sunday, 22nd May as a smaller event. Details about the Anniversary Fun Run are included below.

Dear Parents,

My daughter and I will be back at school on Tuesday.  This has been a difficult time for our family and we appreciate everyone’s support.  For those who don’t know, back in October my father was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer.  He is now under hospice care and it was important for Sophia and me to spend some quality time with him before he is too far gone.

Intentions To Return Form (Reminder)

 
It is now time to confirm your intentions to enroll for the 2016 / 2017 Academic School Year and to secure your son / daughter’s place(s) in classes. Confirmed places are held for those families that have declared their intentions to return on the form that was distributed 5/4/2016. ECA & Saturday Sports Programme News

 
Holiday & Programme Reminder
A reminder that Monday, 9th May is a public holiday in Ukraine (Victory Day) and PSI is closed.
Friday ECA Programme - Season 4 will run as normal today (3:00 to 4:00 pm).
Super Saturday Sports - Continues this weekend (7/5/2016).
Buses and all programmes will run as normal on Tuesday.

CEESA VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENTS
Our school has 2 teams travelling this weekend to compete in the Middle School Girls and Boys CEESA Volleyball Tournaments in Helsinki and Riga respectively. We wish them good luck at the tournaments and hope they make a lot of new friends from other countries.

Library News (PSI Anniversary Fun Run Event)

 
This year, our annual fun run will be a special 20th anniversary run with a free anniversary water bottle for all student runners followed by a BBQ at school.

The run will take place in Holosivski Park around a marked 1km route. Your goal is to walk or run as many kilometers as you can in one hour.

Parent Education Tuesday (PET) Meeting This Week

PET meetings offer educational information, coffee, and conversation about school programmes and supporting student learning from home. Meetings are held at 8:30 am in the PSI cafeteria. Here is the agenda for our next meeting;

  • Tuesday, 10th May @ 8:30 am in the Cafeteria - Ms Tatz presents: An Introduction to the PYP (in Russian language).

Russian and English Lessons For Parents  


Parents are invited to join our free Russian classes. Please come along to the lesson that you feel fits you best.
  • Beginners: Tuesdays at 2 - 3 pm in room S305 and Thursdays at 2 - 3 pm in room S204  
  • Intermediate: Mondays at 2 - 3 pm in S202 and Thursday at 3 - 4 pm in room S203
  • Advanced: Wednesdays at 2 - 3 pm in TBD later and Fridays at 2 - 3 pm in room S305
